College Opportunities
OWLs
As an Orientation Week Leader, Kayla Lopez guided incoming freshmen through their transition to college life, addressing their questions and providing academic advising by leveraging her knowledge of the university and its faculty. This role allowed her to engage with diverse personalities and work styles, while participating in trust-building and team exercises that strengthened her connections with both peers and new students. This experience contributed to fostering a strong sense of community for the future of the University of La Verne.
IBC
The Integrative Business Curriculum (IBC) provides business undergraduates with hands-on experience in running a business, covering everything from background operations to achieving sales goals. During Kayla Lopez's time in the IBC, her team raised funds for the Maui fires in 2023 by selling reusable straws to support the affected community. From selecting the product to identifying and reaching the target market, Kayla and her team gained valuable insight into what it takes to sustain a business and keep it on track.
IOTA DELTA
During her time in Iota Delta, Kayla Lopez has grown significantly, both personally and as a leader. Starting in her freshman year, she took on roles such as Social Chair, where she organized events, and Ritual Chair, ensuring members understood the sorority's history and values. In her second year, she became Secretary and New Member Educator, responsible for chapter records and educating new members. Now, as President, Kayla is learning the skills needed to lead the chapter. She has also represented her sorority at the AFLV conference and is a member of the Greek honor society, Order of Omega.
